Join us on Sunday, September 27th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., as a 4.5-mile loop is opened to people on foot, bike, and other human-powered activities and closed to motorized traffic.

Did you join us last year? If so, then you know this is our biggest open streets of the year! More than 100,000 people joined us in walking and rolling the streets of Highland Avenue, North Highland, Boulevard, and North Avenue last year.  And we're expecting for a wonderful turnout again this year. Check out the map on our website.

The Bicycle Parade and Opening Remarks

Join us for The Bicycle Parade, with the lineup at N. Highland Ave. and Virginia Ave, starting at 1:30 p.m. The theme is "Peace, Love, and Alternative Transportation" in tribute to the Atlantans of the 1960s, '70s, and '80s who stopped a highway from being built through their neighborhoods.

Opening remarks will be made at 1:45 p.m. Featured guests are Tim Keane, Atlanta's new Planning Commissioner, and Councilman Hall.

Things to Remember for Day Of:

  • You can enter/exit Atlanta Streets Alive anywhere along the car-free roads i.e. the event route

  • Remember to follow general rules of the road, including, but not limited to:

    • Say to the right side of the street in the direction of travel

    • Stop at traffic signals when red. Many of the cross streets will still have car traffic over the car-free route.

  • It’s okay to walk your bike in areas of dense participation. Enjoy the scenery, businesses, and activity!

  • There will be additional trash/recycling and portable restrooms along the route so please do your part to keep the ATL beautiful!

  • It’s FREE and we encourage everyone - no matter the age, ability, or neighborhood you rep, come! Even if have no clue what exactly an Open Street is, we promise you will like it.
