#RenewDeKalbAve: DeKalb Avenue Corridor Public Meeting

DeKalb Ave Rendering

DeKalb Avenue is fast, dangerous and out of control -- but there's hope.

In 2015, Atlanta voters overwhelming approved the Renew Atlanta Infrastructure Bond to update and improve our streets. DeKalb Avenue made the Renew Atlanta list as a Complete Street. This would mean potentially removing the reversible "suicide" lane (a long overdue safety improvement) and replacing it with turn lanes at key intersections, as well as repaving the street, adding a multi-use path and installing safer crossings.

This is the third public meeting for this critical east-west corridor. Attend this upcoming meeting, and voice your support for a safe, accessible and appealing DeKalb Avenue.

On April 8, visit one of the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition tents at Atlanta Streets Alive: Eastside to see our vision for a better DeKalb. Plus, look for the Renew Atlanta project team on the route!
