Mark your calendars and join us at City Hall for the city’s budget public hearing on Tuesday, June 5, from 6 - 9 pm. We’re advocating for $2.5 million in funding for bike infrastructure in the city’s FY2019 Budget. The funding will help the city set realistic goals for bike network expansion that can be delivered in a single political term. At approximately $100,000 per mile, the city could build 20 miles of bike lanes annually, with the goal of 200 miles by 2021, and set aside $500,000 for maintenance.
Your presence is needed to show our City Council Members how important biking is to this city. Wear your “I Bike, I Vote” pin or get one from us at City Hall. Sign up to make a public statement. Let’s make this Budget for Bikes.
Participants unable to physically attend the meeting can submit questions via email to firstname.lastname@example.org and people can also submit their questions through Twitter @ATLCouncil using the hashtag #atlbudget. Questions can be called into (404) 330-6309 and texted to (404) 392-0159.
