Bike Week 2015 Recap

In case you haven't heard, last week was a huge week for biking in Atlanta! We're taking a look back at all the bike news and events in Atlanta: on social media and in the news!

Bike Week started early with a packed bike valet at Shakey Knees Music Festival May 8-10. We parked more than 650 bikes over the weekend!

On Thursday, May 14th, Chipotle Mexican Grill offered to donate up to $10,000 to the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition. We asked people to eat at Chipotle in the name of local bike advocacy. Burritos for bikes!

The City of Atlanta also announced Thursday they would be hiring a Chief Bicycle Officer. When hired, this person will help Atlanta grow as a bike-friendly city!

Friday morning, May 15th, was jam-packed with Bike to Work Day activities! Atlanta Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff led a morning ride from the Georgia Dome to Southwest Atlanta and back. Meanwhile, Midtown Alliance and Central Atlanta Progress both hosted energizer stations for hungry people biking to work.
