Job Opening: Graphic Designer

COMPENSATION:

Part-time, 10-15 hours/week. 1 year contract with opportunity for renewal.

BACKGROUND

Founded in 1991, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition is working for better biking. We envision a city where bicycling is a safe and convenient form of everyday transportation, where people of all ages and communities have access to a connected network of safe bikeways. We see bicycling as a tool for community building, personal and public health, and transportation equity, and seek to promote bicycling for transportation in particular. Our programs include Atlanta Streets Alive, an open streets initiative, safety and education classes, and advocacy campaigns for protected bikeways, safer streets, an equitable bike share system, and policies that support bicycling.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL TASKS

Graphic designer will produce content for two brands: Atlanta Bicycle Coalition & Atlanta Streets Alive. Designer will create new print and digital content including brochures, postcards, posters, magazine ads, infographics, web graphics, and more. They will report directly to the Communications & Outreach Manager. Designer is requested to be in the office at least four hours per week, with the remainder available to work remotely.

Tasks include:

  • Create new brochures

  • Design Annual Report

  • Create branded materials including barricade covers, posters, brochures, and door hangers for Atlanta Streets Alive

  • Produce web-ready graphics for social media and website

  • Collaborate with PR team to create media graphics

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to use Adobe Creative Suite and Photoshop

  • Passion for creative ways to expand brand

  • Ability to collaborate and be flexible

  • Detail oriented

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Basic understanding of HTML5 and CSS with knowledge of web design and graphic layouts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in graphic design, or related discipline

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in graphic design
