Everyday is Bike Day

Bicycling in Atlanta

In many cities across the U.S., May is known for one thing--National Bike Month.

In the past, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition has hosted a score of bike month events, from commuter breakfasts to a ride with Mayor Kasim Reed. We love celebrating the simple freedom of a bicycle and connecting with others in bike communities around Atlanta.

But why pack in the passion, fun, and excitement into only one month? When you have a city that’s bikeable, everyday is bike day.

With the launch of Atlanta Bike Share, the addition of 30 miles of bike lanes as part of the infrastructure bond, and Atlanta’s position as a Green Lane City (meaning we are dedicated to building more protected bike lanes in the city), Atlanta is well on its way to becoming a safer and more enjoyable city to ride a bike.

But don’t worry. We’re not ignoring Bike Month altogether.

Bike Commuter Breakfast: Thursday, May 7

7-9 a.m.

Join us at a Central Atlanta Progress-sponsored special edition Bike Commuter Breakfast at Condesa Coffee's new location on Auburn Avenue. Come hang out and enjoy coffee, baked goods, and good company in the historic Atlanta Daily World building. CAP will also have free bike lights and bike seat covers on hand, so there’ll be treats for your bike, too!

Eat for Change at Chipotle Mexican Grill: Thursday, May 14

11 a.m.-10 p.m.

Help us raise $10,000! Eat at Chipotle Mexican Grill on May 14th.

Chipotle will donate a portion of its sales that day to the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, up to $10,000!

All you gotta do is pedal to your nearest Chipotle in the Atlanta metro and enjoy some tasty lunch or dinner! How cool is that?!

Ride with the Falcons: Friday, May 15

7:30-9 a.m.

On National Bike to Work Day, hop on a bike commuter train with Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff! Or stop by the Midtown Alliance or Central Atlanta Progress energizer stations in the morning!

#Everyday Bike Count: Thursday, May 28

4:30-5:30 p.m.

Ride down the 10th Street protected bike lane by Piedmont Park and get counted as part of the #EverydayBiking competition! May's theme is baskets, racks and flowers!

Plus, we're extending the early-bird prices for the Tour de BeltLine until the end of Bike Week! But don't wait until then...only the first 500 who sign up get rad cycling caps! Sign up today!

Throughout the month, please tweet your photos #BikeMonthATL and show us how you celebrate Bike Month!

Here at the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, we work to make every month Bike Month.

Please become a member or donate to help make everyday bike day.
