Ten years ago, Atlanta had about 40 miles of bike lanes and relatively low expectations for the quality of our bike facilities. Back then, we were grateful for a strip of paint. Today, we have more than 100 miles of bikeways in the city, and we’re beginning to see more physically separated and protected lanes.

We are thrilled with the growth of biking in Atlanta, but we need to do even more to create safe streets for all in 2018. Help us show our elected officials and our fellow Atlantans that it’s time for us to simply expect bikes.

This year, with your donations, we led a city election initiative to make sure candidates for Mayor and City Council knew where we stood on the issues that affect people who bike in Atlanta. 

We’ve already laid out our vision and priorities with most of the new Atlanta City Council members. In 2018, we'll continue working toward adoption of our platform, including Vision Zero and an ATL Department of Transportation, develop an Expect Bikes campaign, plus create 3 Atlanta Streets Alive routes that support campaigns for safe streets for all.
