ABC volunteers lead several monthly rides where you can ride in a safe and welcoming environment! Rides follow traffic laws and helmets are required. 

SOCIAL, less strenuous rides

ABC Fun Ride Monthly on 3rd Sunday @ 10:30 AM. Leave from Little Five Points Village Coffee

Mobile Social (this ride replaces Courteous Mass) Monthly on 2nd Friday. Meet at Woodruff Park at 6PM, leave at 6:30 PM. Route and destinations vary but usually offer great opportunities to use your ABC member discount card!

Heels on Wheels Monthly on the 1st Saturday. Meet at Woodruff Park at 6PM, leave at 6:30 PM and ride about ah hour back to start location, then head to a restaurant for socializing. November and December rides will meet at 5 PM, leave at 5:30PM. Route is on Peachtree Street from Downtown to Midtown and back.

LONGER, moderate/slightly strenuous

Jails, Trash, and McAfee Road Feb. 26 @ 10AM and Oct. 28, 2012 @ 9 AM

Stone Mountain Bike & Hike - moderate pace Apr 22, June 24, Aug 26 at 9 AM

Tips for courteous group riding

  • Ride two-by-two (it's the law!) in the right lane on 3+ lane roads 
  • Ride single file in the right lane on 2-3 lane roads so as not to interfere with traffic flow. 
  • Allow faster cyclists ahead of you so they are not stuck behind during single-file stretches. 
  • Follow these principles of safe cycling: be visible, predictable, and assertive (but not aggressive), and control your lane.

Stella's Gap - ABC Training Ride

This hilly ride goes through some of the best roads you will find anywhere inside I-285. We will tour Buckhead and Sandy Springs with options of 23, 30 and 37 miles. Expect a full range of speeds (13-19 mph) on this ride, but no matter how fast you ride it, you'll want to be fit to do this route.

The Mobile Social has delivered "Happy Friday" cheers to thousands in Atlanta who prowl the early weekend streets, but those having the best view of our monthly parade wave down from rooftop bars and restaurants.

It always looks like a lot of fun, so we thought we'd try it out.

Friday, November 11, we ride to the rooftop deck of the Republic Social House on Memorial Avenue across from Oakland Cemetery.

Sept. Mobile Social - Elliott Street Pub & Castleberry Hill

The Mobile Social has in less than a year become one of the coolest social rides in town.  Come see why on Friday, September 9 as we take a loop over toward the Edgewood Retail District on our way to Castleberry Hill's Art Stroll and the bike-friendly Elliott Street Pub.
