Heels on Wheels ride Saturday, May 31 at 10 from Houndstooth Road in Decatur

Women are riding bikes in growing numbers in Atlanta - some even in skirts and heels! That's where this group gets its name (although please wear what makes you feel comfortable.) We started this dressy social ride so women of all ages and experience levels could have fun, build confidence, and enjoy the experience of riding with a group of snazzy women - we turn heads just by virtue of the novelty of being an all-female ride. (There are one or two rides each year when we invite men to participate too).

Riding on city streets can be so much fun! We ride with confidence, strive for visibility, and ride predictably by following all traffic laws and staking our claim to the lane when it's too narrow to share.

We'll ride around Decatur for a lovely morning of heels on wheels. Suggested dress is "bike fancy" though heels are optional.

Registration will begin at 9:30am so that we can roll out at 10am. No fee, but donations to Atlanta Bicycle Coalition are encouraged (atlantabike.org/donate). Houndstooth Road will have a a small treat to hand out at registration (limited number, so get there on time).

The route will start at Houndstooth Road and take us exploring along the edge of Agnes Scott, through Decatur Cemetery, Glenlake Park, Glen Creek Nature Preserve, by YDFM, and return us to the Downtown Decatur Square in time for lunch and/or shopping so plan accordingly!
