There are a lot of exciting things happening in Atlanta bicycling. And with all these projects in the works, we'll need your generous support to make sure they get done. Here are 3 ways you can support better biking in Atlanta, plus a bonus that keeps on giving!
Every world-class bicycling city has at least one full-time staff person whose job is to champion bicyclists and works tirelessly to make sure the city prioritizes bicycle infrastructure, safety education, and and city-wide bike share programs. We think it's time for the City of Atlanta to have a "Chief Bicycle Officer." Through your contribution, we are working to garner support and secure private grant funding for a Chief Bicycle Officer position in the city.
Connecting the City is our ongoing effort to advocate for high quality bike infrastructure that connects the entire city of Atlanta. We want Atlanta's bike lanes to take us somewhere. With your support, we are campaigning for bike lanes on important streets like Lee St, Dekalb Ave. and Peachtree St.
The vision of Atlanta Streets Alive is to encourage Atlanta to develop living streets — streets that appeal to pedestrians, bikers, businesses and neighbors. Streets are publicly owned assets but on most days are used mainly by cars. On this day, people can regain ownership of the streets they pay taxes to build and maintain — and transform them into crazy fun healthy, living streets for all to enjoy. Your support will help us continue to organize these community-building events.
