"Winning Campaigns" training comes to Atlanta January 25 and 26th
A powerful campaign to increase biking and walking takes planning, research, strategy and knowledge about grassroots organizing. There aren't any shortcuts to transform communities into great places to bike and walk, but there is one way that is proven to get campaigns off on the right track: the Alliance for Biking & Walking’s Winning Campaigns Training.
The Winning Campaigns Trainings give bicycle and pedestrian advocates the proven strategies to effectively identify, manage and win campaigns to boost biking and walking. This two and half day training gives advocates a chance to complete a campaign blueprint that will guide their work, all under the guidance of our national facilitators. The seven-step blueprint has a track record of proven success across the country, and in 2013 the Alliance is bringing this national training to Atlanta.
Advocates leave the Winning Campaign Training as better leaders who are energized and equipped with new knowledge and strategies to get results on the ground. By connecting advocates and sharing best practices, the Alliance makes sure leaders are moving forward, not reinventing the wheel.
In addition to the workshop, there will be a Community Forum open to all from 4-7 pm on Saturday, January 26th.
Bike advocates, partners, and community members are invited to join ABC’s staff and board for this community conversation on bicycle infrastructure funding. A wintry Saturday afternoon is the perfect time to get involved in paving the way for better biking in Atlanta.
Facilitators from the Alliance for Biking & Walking and the League of American Bicyclists will give a short presentation on what's happening around the country in places where referendums have failed. Then you'll hear all about ABC’s newly developed campaign, and how supporters can get involved.
But most importantly, we want to hear from you! Bring your ideas, your enthusiasm, and your willingness to consider all angles. Help us make this a winning campaign from the get-go, and garner more funding for bike projects.
Free event with complimentary appetizers and a small cash/donations wine table
