Bike Safety
Concerns about safety are often cited as the biggest barrier to more people riding bicycles, but these concerns can be overcome through education, planning, and awareness. Do some reading up on the topic, then take one of our bike classes (ranging from basic to more advanced, quick and simple to in-depth) to cement your knowledge!
ABC Resources
- Layers of Bike Safety (Also included as an easier on the eyes attachment)
- Georgia Bike Laws
- Common Crash Types
Outside Resources:
- Crash and safety facts from Bicycling Info
- How not to get hit by cars: This page shows you real ways you can get hit and real ways to avoid them. This is a far cry from normal bicycle safety guides, which usually tell you little more than to wear your helmet and to follow the law (which is also good, not exactly earth-shattering advice).
Kids Bike Safety
- Safe Routes to School bicycle safety skills guide.
- Safe Kids fact sheets and safety tips.
