Public Meeting: Proposed Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge at Morgan Falls (Sandy Springs/East Cobb)
Public Meeting: Proposed Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge at Morgan Falls
Thursday, April 30, 2009
7 - 9 PM Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell
The Sandy Springs Conservancy and the National Park Service will host a public scoping meeting for the proposed bicycle/pedestrian bridge and connective trails at Morgan Falls. This is the first opportunity for public comment on the proposed project and is a critical part of the Environmental Assessment (EA) process.
We know there are local residents who will OPPOSE this bridge. We know there are some who will OPPOSE bicycles using this bridge as a regional link. We have the support of many key officials. For one, Dan Brown, the NPS Park Superintendent. His vision is to link the region - of Cobb, Roswell, and Northern Fulton County - and this bridge can be a link. Working with groups like the Sandy Springs Conservancy, their City Council, Georgia Power and PATH, trails and routes can be created on the east side of Morgan Falls heading North to Roswell, East to Gwinnett and South towards Buckhead. How cool would that be?
PLEASE attend and bring your friends. children and co-workers. If you ride the Thursday night ride in Roswell, just come over after the ride. It's right around the corner. Without a voice, this AWESOME project may not happen.
