Mackenzie Wood

Mackenzie's love of cycling began at the age of eight when she hopped on her first Schwinn to explore the ins and outs of her west Philadelphia neighborhood. While spending several formative years pedaling the country roads of North Florida, she prefers the vibrancy of cycling in the urban landscape. Since moving to Atlanta in 2001, she has been crafting a cycling-centered lifestyle and has developed a keen topographical awareness of the city - preferring the the flattest and most scenic routes.

Mackenzie thinks the inclusion of cycling as part of the urban environment is a critical element in creating a more engaged, people-centered community. Her love of urban cycling extends beyond Atlanta and national borders, having explored Beijing, Utrecht, Kyoto, and Amsterdam on two wheels.
As a Midtown resident, Mackenzie delights in making her daily commute on her Fuji Crosstown down Peachtree Street to the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, where she works on fundraising and policy.
