In less than a year, this ride has become one of the coolest social rides in town. Come join us on the 2nd Friday of the month to find out why.
We've dubbed this casual ride "a rolling social". While wandering through Atlanta's intown neighborhoods, we find familiar faces, new faces, and always a street or two where we can greet others with a "Happy Friday". Our route is planned in advance and includes an extended "pit stop" at a fun, local cafe or bar - a perfect chance to enjoy a break, some conversation and a beverage of your choice. Bring a lock! And some spending money.
Despite the emphasis on fun, our mission to promote responsible bicycling is not lost. Riders will still be expected to follow the rules of the road including: obeying traffic lights and signs, signaling turns and riding two abreast (or single file when appropriate).
Mobile Social is paced for conversation and interaction, not breaking records, so feel free to give your race kit a break for the evening (but check out one of our ocassional training rides if you feel the need for speed).
We STILL meet at Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta at 6 pm on the 2nd Friday of each month. Woodruff Park is located at 51 Peachtree Street 30303 between the Five Points and Peachtree Center MARTA stations - transit directions.
The ride leaves at 6:30 pm. The route varies but is generally fairly short and sweet - 7 to 10 miles in the downtown/intown area.
Past routes we might be inclined to repeat:
