Dan Hourigan
Dan has served on the ABC Board since 2001 and is committed to improving cycling conditions in Atlanta. His interest in cycling grew rapidly when he was able to ride with friends on the Erie Canal towpath in Syracuse, New York. Dan now rides for recreation, exercise, and occasionally to work.
In his role as a planner and director of transportation at the Midtown Alliance, Dan runs a program called Midtown Transportation Solutions that encourages clean transportation options. He has worked to help alleviate the barriers to cycling in several ways - by creating new zoning language that requires new commercial buildings in Midtown to provide shower facilities for potential cyclists, by installing dozens of bike racks in Midtown, and by encouraging individuals in Midtown to bike to work rather than drive.
Dan has a BS from the University of Dayton and earned Masters in City Planning at Georgia Tech. In addition to cycling, Dan likes to run, hike, travel, and volunteer.
