Bicycle Traffic Counts

As bicycle commuting grows across Atlanta and the country, the lack of data on bicycle traffic impedes our cities' and counties' abilities to provide bicycle infrastructure to meet the growing demand. That's why ABC starting conducting bicycle traffic counts in spring 2008.  Our biannual bicycle traffic counts have proven extremely useful in prioritizing future bike transportation projects, addressing safety concerns, and guiding our education and advocacy programs.  Please see the attached report with interesting statistics on our bike counts. More analysis coming soon!  We'd like to thank the volunteers who work tirelessly on these counts for their time, energy, and analytical skills!

If your local government would like to have similar data, ABC can conduct bicycle traffic counts for you.  Our scope of services and fee structure are below.

ABC Hosts a Bicycle Facility Design Workshop

On Wednesday, August 12th, Atlanta Bicycle Coalition hosted a bicycle facility design class for Atlanta-area planners and engineers. Workshop attendance was free thanks to a grant provided by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. The purpose of the course was to provide transportation planners and engineers with information on the basic principles and the latest innovations in bicycle accommodation and facility design.

Bicycle Plan Consulting Services

Atlanta Bicycle Coalition staff are available to assist local governments and transportation/planning agencies, consultants, and organizations with bicycle planning and design. We can conduct bikability audits, consult on bicycle facility selection, assist with design review, bicycle programming and non-motorized transportation planning, or anything else bicycle related your community needs. Please contact Rebecca Serna or Amy Goodwin at 404-881-1112 or to discuss services and rates.

Bicycle Valet

Let us green your next event by providing a bicycle valet service to your attendees! The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition now offers secure and easy-to-use bike parking at events. Too often, large events quickly run out of bicycle rack space for those who choose to bike to avoid traffic. By providing Bicycle Valet service at your next event, you can reduce the event's negative impact on traffic congestion and carbon emissions and give people more transportation options.

Bicycle Teach & Eat

Are you looking for an opportunity to bring information about biking to your organization, agency, or company? If so, consider scheduling a Bicycle Teach & Eat for your employees to introduce them to bicycling in and around Atlanta. This is a great way to encourage healthy living and maybe even inspire some to become bike commuters! Presentations are conducted by certified cycling instructors and can be customized to meet your interests and needs (ie, biking with children, focus on safety, etc).
