Mark your calendars for a girls' night out with a twist! We'll glide down Atlanta's signature street, Peachtree, for a night on the town without the hassle of figuring out who will drive and where to park. Instead of trying to avoid Saturday night traffic, we'll BE traffic! Wear your finest so we can demonstrate just how easy it can (or should) be to ride a bike in Atlanta.

Our goal is to turn a few heads and shift people's thinking about a)who rides bikes (it's not just men) and b) where people can ride bikes (biking intown can be a safe and practical way of getting around).

NEW RIDE: Jails, Trash, and McAfee Road
Feb. 28, May 23, and Oct. 24 – all at 9 AM

A NEW training ride from the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition!

Starting at Manuel's Tavern, this intown tour will take us past multiple incarceration facilities, a landfill, and the little-known McAfee Road. Of the three, only McAfee poses a threat to you – with 6 steep hills packed into a straight-as-an-arrow 3.3 mile stretch. This ride has some great lightly-traveled sections of road, yet never ventures outside of I-285.

We’ll gather for lunch at Manuel’s Tavern after the ride.

The Stone Mountain Bike and Hike combines the joy of cycling from L5P to Stone Mountain with a hike up the mountain.

The Bike and Hike is about 30 miles total on the bike done in two stages (there and back) and a 1.5 mile hike up the mountain and 1.5 miles coming down.

So you are planning an amazing ride, and you'd like to promote it on ABC's website. Understandable. But as you might imagine, we get swamped with requests to post rides on our site. What you might not realize is that we are a very small nonprofit with a tiny staff, so our policy is to only post rides that are organized by ABC, offer ABC members a discount, or benefit our programs financially.
