Well, it appears, we can now add Washington, D.C. to the list of cities that we have - the international list of cities offering advanced bicycle sharing programs. How do these two systems compare? More importantly for us, how can Atlanta become part of this growing movement and increase transportation options for its residents and visitors?

GPB Television rebroadcasts show spotlighting ABC Fun Ride

ABC board president, Pam Jacobson, writes to remind us that Georgia Public Broadcasting is re-airing the episode of Georgia Outdoors on biking that features Atlanta Bicycle Campaign and was filmed during our monthly fun ride last May. Don't be fooled by the captions: the ABC spokesperson they misidentify as Ira Eastman is our very own - and Pam's very own - Ira Jacobson, pictured right.

Unknown Water BottleWith temperatures on their way up in Atlanta, cyclists are once again reaching for their water bottles - as well they should, since staying properly hydrated is an important part of healthy bicycling. There is, though, a buzz afoot about the safety of one type of plastic used in water bottle construction, specifically the clear and virtually indestructible polycarbonate kind known as BPA.
