Join The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition (ABC) and the Downtown TMA for BikeFest, a FREE outdoor event held in Downtown's Woodruff Park.

If necessary, a rain date will be posted at www.atlantadowntown.com the morning of the event.

Meet cyclists, visit bicycle experts and win prizes. BikeFest is an event for cyclists and non-cyclists. Come learn more about biking and the benefits it provides and enjoy the opportunity to meet and mingle with bikers, bike vendors and bicycle advocates.

CNN alternative commuting story features ABC and Director Rebecca Serna

CNN reporter T. J. Holmes reports on motivations behind the rising trend in alternative commuting in this video which features Atlanta Bicycle Campaign Executive Director, Rebecca Serna, and her morning commute into the ABC office. The report includes interviews with participants from the Downtown TMA, the Clean Air Campaign and alternative commuters who attended the ABC-sponsored BikeFest May 16.

You may have noticed that ABC is appearing more and more in local, national and even international media. Thanks to ABC Share the Road Project Manager Erica Crabb Moon for helping to arrange this and other coverage!

The health and environmental benefits of cycling are common knowledge. Less well known are the rewards that some lucky cyclists will receive as a result of participating in our BikeFest and Biking for Bagels events last week, thanks to the hard work and generosity of our partners at the Downtown Transportation Management Association.

Check out this list of prizes and keep it mind. Next time, as they say, "you, too, could be a winner!"

ABC bagels and coffee fuel cyclists on National Bike to Work Day

The Atlanta Bicycle Campaign, along with its steadfast partner, the Downtown Transportation Management Association, offered bagels and coffee to dozens of cyclists, supporters and volunteers from its "Bagel Central" outpost on the Edgewood Avenue bike lane near Randolph Street on Friday to celebrate National Bike to Work Day. Our hospitality was documented by CNN cyclist-reporter, Chris Hrubesh, with his innovative HelmetCam in this video, while we made our own photo gallery record.

BikeFest 2008 climaxes with choreographed clown-car collision

BikeFest 2008, held Wednesday at Woodruff Park in Downtown Atlanta, concluded with a daring performance, one that launched a wrong-way Charlie the Cycling Clown - known in some circles as Kyle Torok - headlong toward a tempera-coated corrugated-cardboard jalopy piloted by the law-abiding Irene. Ringmaster, Erica Crabb Moon, not only provided play-by-play commentary for the unfolding drama but also graciously rendered assistance to a dazed - but fortunately uninjured - Charlie.
