BUG = Bicycle User Group

Pushing for Change Where You Live

BUGs are grassroots groups of bicycle riders in a county, neighborhood, organization or workplace that work together on a local level to improve conditions for bicyclists. You might say that BUGS "bug" officials, decision-makers, and the general public to act with bicycle-users in mind.

BUGs can vary in size, organizational style, and even purpose. Each BUG works according to its own needs, objectives, imagination, and resources.

BUGs are independent affiliates of the Atlanta Bicycle Campaign. ABC believes that advocacy is best done at the local level, where bicycle users can impact decisions that directly affect them.

Even a small effort on your part can make a big difference!

ABC is currently considering ways to rejuvenate the BUGs.

In the past ABC has provided training, information, and technical assistance to BUG Leaders. If you are interested in helping with this effort as a BUG leader or the ABC volunteer BUG coordinator, contact us.
