Three internships available - flexible hours not to exceed 20 per week.
1) Nonprofit Management Intern
The ABC Nonprofit Intern will research issues related to nonprofit management and best practices, including but not limited to: outcomes and results, board development, grants, and volunteer management.
The ideal candidate will be a student in a nonprofit or business management track.
Gain valuable experience working with a respected nonprofit to continuously improve our management practices, financial sustainability, and results!
2) Transportation Intern
The ABC Transportation Intern will research issues related to transportation policy, funding, design, and implementation.
This position requires some technical background in city planning, transportation engineering, or a related field.
Gain valuable experience working with a respected nonprofit to deepen our knowledge and understanding of current research, best practices in transportation planning, and the political climate for building bicycle facilities that will make it safer and easier for more people to ride bicycles in metro Atlanta.
3) Outreach Intern
The ABC Outreach Intern will help coordinate enjoyable and educational events such as ABC tabling at festivals, ABC monthly gatherings to build community among cyclists and people who would like to bike, and a new initiative, our monthly Bike Panels. The Bike Panel series will be organized around a series of topics, with a panel of bike-xperts conducting a short presentation and Q&A, then socializing with the group. Topics range from "how to select the right bike for you" to "becoming a bike geek in three easy steps" and will allow the intern to creatively position ABC as an expert resource to cyclists and would-be cyclists alike.
This position requires an outgoing personality, attention to detail, and an interest in spreading the word about the many benefits of biking to new audiences.
Gain valuable experience working with a respected nonprofit to expand our reach and gain greater respect in the public arena for bicycles.

Topics will be determined in consultation with the executive director and special projects manager. Position hours and content will be flexible depending on each intern's interests and the organization's initiatives at the time. There is no age limit to these positions -- more experienced interns are just as welcome as students!
These internships may be conducted on-site or via e-mail or a combination of the two.
