Once again, ABC will be “engineering” the ever-popular “Bike Trains” on Bike to Work Day, Friday, May18, 2007.
What is a Bike Train?
A Bike Train is a caravan of cyclists following a specific route on a regular schedule. Riders can join in or peel off at any point along the route. If you’d like to try biking to work, but are hesitant to go it alone, bike trains are a great way to get started! If you already bike to work, bike trains are a fun way to join others who do the same. It’s a wonderful way to wrap up National “Bike to Work Week” (May 14-18), and all a Bike Train experience may be just what you need to put you over the edge in our Urban Survival Adventure Challenge! (See article in this issue or ABC’s website, www.atlantabike.org.)
All Aboard!
This year we are offering two Bike Trains headed toward downtown Atlanta (see timetables below). There is no need to make a “reservation”, but if you contact us before-hand we’ll know to look for you! And if you’d like to form your own bike train in your area, let us know and we’ll post it on our website. For more information, or to let us know you’ll be participating, contact the Atlanta Bicycle Campaign, (404) 881-1112, atlantabike@mindspring.com.
